A Blessed Family of Educators

One day in September Juche 101 (2012) the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the family of Sim Tong Su who teaches at Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering. Earlier, his family moved into a new house on newly-built Changjon Street.

Pleased to hear that Sim’s wife and their daughters were all teachers, he said that he had heard little about a family of educators although he was familiar with the words family of soldiers or family of artistes.

Just as the roots of a big tree cannot be seen, the devotion and sincerity of teachers are not to be seen for now, but they will come out by the rising generation who contribute to the country’s prosperity, he said, adding that Sim’s is a family of patriots who dedicate their conscience to fostering the future of the country.

He toasted the house moving of Sim’s family, saying that he brought an LED TV, a set of vessels and books for children as he couldn’t come only with a match box to congratulate the new dwellers.

Opening a box containing a collection of world famous fairy tales, he asked the host and hostess to keep them well and hand them over to grandchildren-to-be because they had no children to read them, and hoped that the teachers of the family would work harder.

The family members attended the 13^th national conference of educational workers two years later. They are still dedicating themselves to educational work.
